Saturday Sept.10th at 8:30am - Walgreens kicks off the Expo with a Breakfast for Pregnant Moms. The free breakfast will be catered by the Picnic Basket with desserts by Icing on the Cake and floral désign courtesy of Twigs and Posies. Our featured Speakers are Aimee Johnson-Wirt, MD from Colorado Springs Health Partners and Amy Burnquist, Pharm.D. from Walgreens. Aimee Johnson-Wirt, M.D.

Dr. Aimee Johnson-Wirt joined the Pediatric team at CSHP’s Briargate office in the Fall of 2015 after relocating to Colorado Springs from Dothan, Alabama. She has over 10 years experience in Pediatric and Neonatal care. Dr. Johnson-Wirt received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry from The University of Colorado, Boulder, followed by Post-Baccalaureate work in Cell Biology and Pathophysiology as well as Advanced Biology and Virology and Immunology from The University of Alabama in Birmingham and The University of Colorado, Denver. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at The University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. Dr. Johnson-Wirt is Board Certified in Pediatrics.
When she’s not busy seeing patients, Dr. Johnson-Wirt enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, crafts, musical theater, photography, and cooking.

Amy Burnquist, Pharm.D.

Amy Burnquist received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico in 2006. She is an AphA certified immunizing pharmacist who has been practicing in a community pharmacy setting for the past 10 years. She has been a Walgreens pharmacist for eight years total and has been in the role of pharmacy manager for six years. As a Walgreens pharmacist, Amy offers help and wellness advice while monitoring for potentially unsafe interactions for prescriptions with a special interest in children’s health. Amy is the mother of three and enjoys reading and the outdoors in her spare time.
